Abstract
The reading skills of seventh-grade students at MTsN 3 Mojokerto are still not optimal, as indicated by their difficulties in reading texts fluently, pronouncing words correctly, and understanding meanings. To overcome these problems, the researcher attempted to use the learning media Educandy to improve students’ reading skills.
The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the Educandy learning media in improving the reading skills of seventh-grade students at MTsN 3 Mojokerto. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental design in the form of pre-test and post-test on two groups: experimental and control. Data were collected through tests administered before and after the treatment.
The results showed that the average score of the experimental group increased from 57.8 to 85 (N-Gain 0.6 – medium category), while the control group’s scores increased from 62 to 71 (N-Gain 0.2 – low category). This result shows that the use of the Educandy media has a positive influence on improving students’ reading skills. It can be concluded that this learning media is fairly effective in developing students’ reading skills and can be used as a supporting tool in Arabic language learning.
