Abstract

Character education is a crucial aspect in shaping individuals with integrity and noble character. Pondok Pesantren Husnul Khotimah 2 Kuningan, as an Islamic educational institution, plays a strategic role in reinforcing character education for its students. This study aims to analyze the management of character education reinforcement at Pondok Pesantren Husnul Khotimah 2 Kuningan, encompassing the planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising of the program.
This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The research informants included the pesantren leadership, head of the madrasah unit, head of OSPRAM (santri and scouting organization), head of dormitory affairs, and teachers. Data analysis was conducted thematically to identify management patterns and factors influencing the success of the character education program.
The research findings indicate that Pondok Pesantren Husnul Khotimah 2 Kuningan has an organizational structure that supports the implementation of the character education program, with a dedicated committee responsible for planning, executing, and supervising. The curriculum integrates character values into every subject, extracurricular activities, and habituation practices. Continuous training for teachers and caregivers is key to enhancing their competence in character education. The program implementation is supported by routine activities such as religious studies, communal prayers, and social activities that engage students in the practical application of character values. Program evaluation is conducted through regular monitoring and annual assessments, involving feedback from all related parties. This study also found that parental and community support is a significant factor in reinforcing character education at the pesantren. This research concludes that the management of character education reinforcement at Pondok Pesantren Husnul Khotimah 2 Kuningan is well-executed and effective. Several recommendations are provided for program enhancement, including the development of a more comprehensive evaluation model, increased collaboration with external parties, and technology-based program innovations
