Abstract
This research examines the annual reports of Indonesian Islamic banks
(BSI) and Maybank Malaysia in 2022. This research aims to provide new
knowledge regarding Comparison of Market Strength and financial performance
at Islamic banks (BSI) and Maybank Malaysia in 2022. There is an assessment of
market power and also the financial performance of Islamic bank companies using
indicators that have been regulated in banking legislation. Therefore, the authors
apply indicators to the calculation of market power assessment using the HHI ratio
formula and for performance itself using indicators with the CAMEL ratio formula
in achieving calculation results on comparisons of Indonesian Islamic banks (BSI)
and Maybank Malaysia in 2022. This research is descriptive analysis using
quantitative research methods, by compiling annual reports in 2022 by Indonesian
Islamic banks (BSI) and Maybank Malaysia, with the results of these data
researchers will use a predetermined ratio formula. The results of a comparison of
market power and financial performance at Islamic banks (BSI) and Maybank
Malaysia in 2022 and the calculation results obtained that Maybank Malaysia is
superior compared to Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), several possibilities could be
the reasons that are factors that affect Maybank Malaysia superior to Indonesian
Islamic banks (BSI).
