Abstract

Language skill is a medium that is needed by every individual in listening, thinking, speaking, as well as a person's means of reading and writing. From the language, the children can express everything that is on their mind. Children can ask questions, give arguments to disagree, give commands, negative sentences, and so on. Children always use language in any situation and condition. This ability arises because of the appropriate stimulus and stimulus, this stimulus needs to be carried out continuously by the educator or tutor. To improve these abilities, educators need the appropriate media. According to Elizabeth B Hurlock, one of the factors that can affect children's language skill is cognition, So from this factor, educators must have the appropriate system in providing ammunition for good and correct language procedures or practices. Because the input from the child's language skill can communicate well with the environment both spoken and written.
In this study, the researcher formulated a problem regarding the effectiveness of the word snake and ladder game at RA Perwanida Bendunganjati. This study aims to determine how effective the snake and ladder game that the researcher presents in improving children's language skill at RA Perwanida Bendunganjati. The research presented uses experimental quantitative research methods, namely using Pretest and Posttest data.
From the summary of research using Pretest and posttest, the Pretest has a minimum value of 3.00 and a maximum value of 8.00, while at the Postteststage it has a minimum value of 9.00 and a maximum value of 12.00. It can be concluded that children's language skill can develop effectively after given treatment by using the snake and ladder game method
